Privacy at The Charcoal Garden
How we handle your data — under the UAE data protection law (Federal Decree-Law No. 45 of 2021, PDPL).
Responsible
The Charcoal GardenDubai, United Arab EmiratesWhat we keep
Your name, phone number, e-mail and birthday when you give them to us; your visits and orders; preferences such as your table or drinks and — only with your explicit consent — allergies; your answers about consent, with the time; your ratings and comments after a visit, if you give them; your loyalty points and the vouchers made out to you; your messages with us, for example by WhatsApp.
What for
To serve and recognise you, to manage bookings and the waitlist, to issue invoices, to ask how your visit was (once per visit, no advertising) and — only if you agreed — to send you offers by WhatsApp, SMS or e-mail. You can withdraw your consent at any time.
Who sees it
Our team, as far as the service needs it, and service providers working for us (hosting, database, messaging, AI features). Your data may be stored on servers outside the UAE, under contractual safeguards. We never sell data.
How long
36 months after your last visit or contact, your details are anonymised automatically. Invoices are kept for five years because of the tax rules.
Your rights
You can ask what we keep and get a copy, have wrong details corrected and your data erased, have the processing restricted and object to marketing at any time. Talk to us at the restaurant or write to us.
You can also complain to the UAE Data Office.
